Atlanta, GA – The AND Campaign is proud to announce the release of the highly-anticipated documentary series “How I Got Over” on YouTube. The series takes a deep dive into the Black church tradition. It debunks the misconception that orthodoxy is a white Western construct and shows that true faith in God’s word is how the Black community survived and thrived amidst injustices and mistreatment.

“This is an important part of the history of the church as a whole. It’s an important part of American history,” said Justin Giboney, Co-Founder, and President of the AND Campaign.

Amos N. Jones, Washington Lawyer, Legal Scholar, and an ordained Baptist deacon, added, “The ‘How I Got Over’ documentary series debunks the misconception that orthodoxy is a white Western construct and illustrates the resilience and strength of the Black church through true faith in God’s word.”

The documentary series features interviews with prominent faith leaders such as Dr. Esau McCauley, Bishop Claude Alexander, Lisa Fields, Dr. Cynthia Hale, and Dr. CJ Rhodes. They discuss the impact of the Black church and how its teachings have shaped their approach to social engagement.

The “How I Got Over” documentary series is a powerful and thought-provoking look at the Black church tradition and its impact on social engagement. Through interviews with prominent faith leaders and examination of the church’s educational efforts, the arts, and more, the series provides an in-depth look at the resilience and strength of the Black church through true faith in God’s word.

The AND Campaign is committed to promoting the documentary series and encouraging viewers to subscribe to the YouTube channel and join the IVI newsletter. The “How I Got Over” premiere will take place on February 13th at 8/7 PM central on the AND Campaign YouTube channel. Two series episodes will be released in February, with one episode on February 13th and another on February 27th. The creators will also host a live stream on February 13th to discuss the series and answer questions from the audience.
